About Ayurveda

Ayurveda is one of the world’s oldest holistic systems of medicine, originating in India and rooted in the Vedic tradition, particularly the Atharva Veda. It is founded on the principle that health is achieved through the balance of the three doshas—Vata, Pitta, and Kapha—and that disease results from their imbalance. Ayurveda emphasizes preventive healthcare, lifestyle regulation, dietary discipline, and individualized treatment. Classical scholars such as Charaka and Sushruta systematized this profound knowledge for future generations. The continued relevance of Ayurveda across centuries stands as testimony to its scientific depth, therapeutic effectiveness, and holistic approach to human well-being.

GAMCH is located at Kottar, in Nagercoil, the headquarters of Kanyakumari District, the southernmost district of the Indian subcontinent.
